## All Questions

### How much does epoxy flooring cost in Mississauga?

Basement epoxy runs $4.50-$10/sq ft, garage quartz-flake with a polyaspartic topcoat $6.50-$10/sq ft, decorative metallic $9-$16/sq ft, and ESD or CFIA-compliant systems $10-$16/sq ft. A typical double garage in a Mississauga subdivision lands between $2,900 and $4,500. Slab condition moves the number most: salt pitting, an old DIY coating that has to come off, or high moisture readings all add prep time. Warehouse, food plant, and industrial floors are custom-quoted after an on-site assessment, and every quote becomes a fixed-price contract.

### Will an epoxy garage floor hold up to Mississauga winters and road salt?

Yes, if it is built as a multi-layer system. Cars coming off the 401, 403, and QEW drip brine onto the slab all winter, and Mississauga averages about 108 cm of snow a year with freeze-thaw swings down to -15C. We use a 100% solid epoxy base over a mechanically profiled slab, broadcast with flake or quartz, then seal it with an aliphatic polyaspartic topcoat rated to -25C. Salt sits on top and wipes off instead of soaking into the concrete. Single-coat floor paints and DIY kits are what fail here, usually within one or two winters.

### Can you coat our warehouse near Pearson without shutting down operations?

Yes. Most distribution centres around the airport and along Highway 410 run three shifts, so we phase the work by racking zone or aisle and use fast-cure polyaspartic or rapid-return epoxy where needed. A typical zone returns to forklift traffic the next morning. We coordinate with your operations lead on dock access, dust control, and staging so shipping keeps moving. WSIB clearance and $2M liability documentation are provided before mobilization.

### What flooring do Mississauga food and pharmaceutical plants need to meet CFIA standards?

CFIA-regulated processing areas need a seamless, non-porous floor with integral coving at the walls, sloped drainage, and enough thermal shock resistance to handle hot washdowns and cold product. For wet processing and hot cleaning cycles we usually specify urethane cement. For dry packaging, warehousing, and many pharma support areas, a 100% solid epoxy with coved edges works well. Cleanroom spaces get seamless, low-particulate systems. We provide product data, cure records, and installation documentation for your auditors.

### My Mississauga basement feels damp. Can it still get an epoxy floor?

Usually, yes. Below-grade basements in Erin Mills and Churchill Meadows townhouses and older foundations near the lake often show moisture coming up through the slab. We drill and test with ASTM F2170 in-slab probes before quoting. If relative humidity is above the coating manufacturer's limit, we apply a moisture-mitigating primer before the epoxy base. That primer is what keeps the floor from blistering later. If testing points to an active leak or drainage problem, we tell you to fix that first.

### Why do you shot blast or diamond grind instead of acid etching?

Acid etching leaves the weak surface layer of concrete (laitance) in place and gives an uneven, often too-smooth profile. Epoxy laid over it peels, especially under hot tires in summer or forklift wheels. Shot blasting on large open floors and diamond grinding at edges and in garages physically remove that layer, along with old paint and contaminants, and open the concrete so the epoxy locks in mechanically. It is the main reason our floors last 15+ years.

### Which coating handles chemical exposure in Southdown and other industrial areas?

Standard epoxy resists oils, fuels, and most cleaners, but concentrated acids and aggressive solvents will soften it. For plants in Southdown and other heavy industrial zones, we specify novolac epoxy, which holds up to sulfuric acid and strong solvents, and build secondary containment with coved, liquid-tight walls where the Ontario Building Code requires impermeable floors for stored chemicals. We match the system to your safety data sheets before quoting.

### How quickly can you get to my property for a quote?

We book on-site assessments anywhere in Mississauga within one business week, and usually reply to a phone call or form within two business hours. At the visit we measure, inspect the slab, test moisture where needed, and then send a fixed-price contract. No travel fees within Mississauga and no obligation after the assessment.

### Which areas does Mississauga Epoxy Flooring cover?

Every Mississauga neighbourhood, including Port Credit, Clarkson, Lorne Park, Streetsville, Meadowvale, Erin Mills, Churchill Meadows, City Centre, Cooksville, Malton, and the Airport Corporate Centre. We also serve Brampton, Oakville, Milton, Etobicoke, and the rest of Peel and Halton. For projects elsewhere in the GTA, our parent company Toronto Elite Epoxy Flooring handles the work with the same crew and standards.
